back Client: Multi-National Biopharmaceutical CompanyThis multi-national renowned pharmaceutical company selected
Hewshott as part of a turnkey team of consultants for the design of their new
HQ west of London. With a proven track
record of delivery within this hand-picked team, we set about devising a strategy
for the delivery of their AV systems that would ensure their investment lasted
well into the future.
Aside of the standard conferencing facilities one
anticipates in HQ’s, this project presented some unique challenges around their
multi divisible conference room. This
space consisted of three partitioned rooms that could be used individually or
as one. It was important that this space
should be as flexible as possible as the system could be used for anything from
a single screen 30 seat video conferencing boardroom to a 150 seat dual screen
auditorium. One of the main design challenges was ensuring that the logistics
of setting up the space in the various styles would be straight forward and
simple to use, not presenting an obstacle to day to day use. When designing the system, Hewshott first undertook a
discovery element of work, identifying how the client perceives the system
should be used and operated. Once this had been appreciated, Hewshott’s design
engineers were able to be briefed by our consultants on how the system should
operate. Hewshott’s unique strengths are in identifying the technical
capabilities of the end user and tailored the system to fit. It is usual in these cases that less is more,
so designing in too much functionality can have a negative effect on the
usability of the system. Budget of course now plays a key factor in all of the
designs. Being an independent consultancy Hewshott were also able advises the
client on the most cost effective way of designing the system, whether short
term looking at equipment costs or long term when considering calculating power
usage, end of life and return on investment through our cost modelling. |
