Audio Visual

Audio visual systems are becoming increasingly complex as technology advances and always work best when they are fully integrated into the design process and consequently the building programme. Projects are often complex with multiple departments working together to provide a solution and develop a system that is both architecturally integrated and technically strong, but also easy to use.

It is easy to get wrapped up in the latest jargon, but ultimately the successful use of AV rests with the user who is using the technology to conduct their business.  AV should be familiar, intuitive and virtually transparent, thus performing the ultimate role, working for the client.  Of course, this can’t be achieved in every case – a large auditorium with complex processes would likely need competent technicians, as would a recording studio, a town hall and so on.

AV consultants do not exist without demonstrated competence in IT – indeed Hewshott has been pushing the boundaries of IT since the company’s inception, asking for the doors to be open to allow AV in, and this has happened in the last few years.  That does not make AV a sub-set of IT because paradoxically IT is a service provider to AV.  The demands of AV on IT are actually quite straightforward – the complex area is integrating successfully with architecture and acoustics, because ultimately, AV’s properties are light and sound with a hint of theatre.  It is this understanding of AV that keeps Hewshott at the forefront of AV solutions and design, and we are the only leading AV consultant who is independent of IT, but entirely competent and capable in that area.

Applications vary from high level boardrooms and auditoria to casinos, theatre, education and public transport terminals. AV is one of the most visible aspects of interior design, and when correctly integrated will enhance a space. The overlap with IT and expectations for user-friendly systems means Hewshott’s role as specialist AV consultants is increasingly in demand.

We have a demonstrable track record in cutting to the chase, saving our clients a lot of money in the process.  With many years of experience across the world, operating from six offices worldwide, we bring consistency in design and delivery to our clients no matter where they are or what they need.
