08 Mar Celebrating the women of Hewshott
At Hewshott we know that connecting with strong female role models is crucial to help women advance their careers, especially in the fields of Technology and AV – a typically male dominated industry. We are proud that nearly 40% of our team are women, so to honour today, International Women’s Day, we shine a spotlight on all 7 women that are and have been linchpins to our company.
To say these women are inspirational is an understatement.
One of Hewshott’s founding directors, Katie has managed administration, finance and internal operations of the business since its inception in 2002. As the company grew, she supported the expansion from one UK office into four countries worldwide. Over the last 3 years, Katie has developed and managed the company’s policy documentation. She was instrumental in the authoring and attainment of Hewshott’s ISO9001 accreditation. After over 16 years as a Hewshott stalwart, Katie finally retired from the business. She is excited to be moving to a new role that capitalises on her broad skills, particularly those in strategic planning, compliance, risk-based thinking and continuous process improvement.
After working in a myriad of industries from recruitment to mining, Stephanie joined Hewshott in July 2018 . She transitioned out of executive level support roles due to her passion for business development and relationship building. Stephanie is an astute communicator and uses this talent in lead generation, to maximise opportunity and outshine competition. Her fearless networking techniques have made a valuable dent in the business and she is excited to see what 2019 will bring.
With international experience covering various projects in several verticals, each of Natalia’s projects receives broad technical knowledge and capability. Following her joining Hewshott in 2017, she has carried out a wide range of developmental acoustic works within Europe and Western Australia. Her expertise encompasses Acoustic modelling, design, noise assessment and management, environmental development, sound barrier optimisation and reporting. Natalia brings a strong engineering background to the Perth office.
With a background in customer relations, Samantha now heads up all things administrative and financial for Hewshott in the UK. Responsible for also looking after our people and their wellbeing, she’s a key member of the team. Having developed her technical knowledge over the last five years, she can often be found asking unexpectedly challenging questions of our design and project delivery teams!
Following the completion of her architecture degree, Elaine joined the Hewshott team as a project manager in 2013. Here she quickly developed into an invaluable member of our project delivery team. After a short spell away from Hewshott, Elaine re-joined in 2018 to undertake a specific role which perfectly matched her skills set. She is now providing on-site project management services to one of our global clients.
Producing quality and efficient CAD drawings is second nature to Smita. She is fast, flexible and tirelessly adapts to ever-changing design requirements. Joining the Hewshott India office in 2016, Smita has helped set company CAD standards. Her excellent organisational, time management skills, and the ability to multitask, makes her an integral part of the company.
A savvy communication strategist and content developer, Sharlene joined the Hewshott India office in 2016, where she assisted with day-to-day administration and project coordination. Although not from a technical background, over the past couple years Sharlene has demonstrated a knack for understanding technical concepts and even offers clever design inputs.
