Hewshott Expands USA Office
Following the launch of our office in the USA in 2021, Brandon Creel, Partner, has seen strong growth right across America. Careful, sustainable expansion of the team over the last few years is in response to ongoing demand for Hewshott’s services in the USA. The appointment of Robert Smulling as a West Coast–based Principal enables our U.S. team to better serve clients and projects across the region.
Robert brings nearly four decades of experience as a theatre consultant, architectural lighting designer, and project manager, with a proven record of guiding the design and technical integration of theatres, auditoria, studios, and public-assembly venues. Degree educated at Bachelors and Masters level, coupled with extensive experience in both technical theatre and lighting design equips him with extensive knowledge and experience to engage with architects, engineers, and building owners. He has delivered large and small projects on land, at sea and everything in between.

Robert is an avid collector of antique tube radios—more than 50 pieces dating back to the 1930s and enjoys restoring and driving his 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta convertible. He loves his garden and is currently exploring the world of coffee hobby farming.
