The University of Westminster boasts a vibrant learning environment attracting more than 20,000 students from over 150 nations and they continue to invest in the University’s future with new developments, research projects and new ideas.
Hewshott International was appointed (in partnership with 4C Strategies) by the University in 2014 to work alongside their IT and AV teams in developing AV room standards that would see them lead the way in their sector through the coming years.
Over the initial six months, Hewshott carried out a strategic review of the current AV estate, gathered requirements from key stakeholders, including academics and students, and developed a number of robust and future proof room types. In addition, a five year refresh plan was developed.
Hewshott was then responsible for the development of a sole supplier procurement document and the management of a competitive tender process which enabled the University to appoint a vendor to provide both extremely high levels of quality and excellent value for money.
Hewshott is currently engaged in the management of the first phase of works, the development of a custom touch panel GUI and the deployment of a centralised management system.
Lee Rose, Joint Acting Director, Information Services said ‘Engaging with Hewshott on our AV redevelopment programme has been a wholly positive process thus far and their knowledge and professionalism is helping us redefine the way we deliver teaching and learning across the University. When embarking on this project the ambition was always to identify a company that would not simply sell us a service but act as a long term strategic partner, and in Hewshott (4C) we believe we have found just that’.
