Typical meeting and conferencing spaces were designed with large-format displays, Microsoft Teams Rooms systems, video soundbars, whiteboard cameras, room scheduling panels, occupancy sensors, and network-monitored power controls. Larger meeting environments were equipped with ceiling-mounted speakers and microphones, digital signal processing, and integrated cable television capability to support mixed room use including presentations, collaboration, and live content viewing. Hewshott also modernized the building’s television distribution system. The existing infrastructure relied on a mix of cable and satellite services that lacked scalability, so Hewshott designed a building-wide distribution system by centrally locating all set-top boxes within the data center and delivering content across the AV network using AV-over-IP technology, creating an infinitely scalable solution for television distribution throughout the facility.

In addition to AV systems design, Hewshott provided structured cabling design and documentation for the project. This included identifying and removing obsolete infrastructure such as legacy coaxial cabling, POTS lines, copper IDF tie-lines, unused carrier copper and fiber, and outdated network drops on the second floor. New infrastructure included IT and AV network drops, fiber upgrades between the demarcation room and data center, new carrier service cabling, wireless access point coverage modeling, and the overall AV network architecture. Due to strict client requirements governing devices connected to the corporate network, AV equipment could not reside on the IT network, so Hewshott addressed this challenge by designing a physically separate, building-wide AV network with redundancy and resiliency.

The network architecture provides IT with visibility into system health while enabling centralized monitoring of all AV devices, creating a single-pane-of-glass approach to on-premise AV system management. The completed project successfully delivers a modern, flexible workplace environment that supports the client’s operational and technology goals. Through close collaboration with the client and project team, Hewshott met all project objectives, delivering systems and infrastructure that align with the client’s needs, technical requirements, and long-term vision for their headquarters.
