Hewshott undertook an extensive audit of the current AV installations within various spaces such as meeting rooms, divisible boardroom, event spaces, classroom spaces, and a specialized mock operating theatre. The needs of academic staff, operators, and support staff are constantly evolving, and Hewshott was able to capture these needs through workshops and system audits. It was through these sessions, Hewshott recognized the discrepancy between the design intent of the AV system and the way the spaces are being utilised.

Following the audit phase, Hewshott developed a detailed design brief and produced a full technical design package to modernise several key spaces. The proposed solutions prioritised intuitive user operation and improved system reliability while simplifying support for KCL’s internal AV service team.

Hewshott is continuing to support King’s College London throughout the next stage of this project, providing detailed system designs, installation oversight, and commissioning support to help ensure that the improved AV systems provide a flexible and reliable experience for the users in both buildings.
